- Contrived Coincidence: Scout gets spooked by Engineer's assistant Sentry which causes him to land in a pile of junk and grab the Neon Annihilator which is what allows Pyro to stop Soldier and get over their fear by complete chance.
- Dramatic Irony: Demo expresses fear of getting lobotomized by Medic and Soldier. Those who have read the comics know that Medic scooped out a part of Demo's brain so Demo would stop asking Medic to restore his eye.

- Mistaken for Gay: Sniper gives Scout his rifle to look through the scope, and he sees Soldier and Heavy, all sweaty and doing pushups and assumes Sniper was Eating the Eye Candy. Sniper angrily clarifies that he was showing Scout that Heavy was losing the pushup competition that was stalling Soldier.
