Go To
A Date A Live visual novel surrounding the appearance of a wish-granting spirit named Ren who visits Shido in his dreams. As he wakes up, he finds himself with a purple-colored container with a snake on it and checks with the spirits he knew up to this point in hopes of finding the owner before he decides to look within it himself.

  • Back from the Dead: The parallel Tenguu City in the final route brings back all the non-canon Spirits from previous visual novels, including Mayuri from the movie.
  • Back for the Dead: Said spirits vanish as a result of disappearing with Ren's world thanks to her fading away herself.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The main protagonist group escapes Ren's world in the good ending, but Ren ended up fading away.
  • Dream Apocalypse: As a result of Ren's death, her artificial world fades away.
  • Invisible Jerkass: Natsumi's first wish to have everyone stop giving her so much attention results in her becoming imperceptible to everyone except Shido. She then starts pulling pranks hoping someone will notice her.
  • Literal Split Personality: Ren gives Origami and her new timeline self separate bodies so they can each test their wishes on Shido (the former becoming his "furniture" and the latter simply wishing for his good health).
  • MacGuffin: The purple container marked with a snake allows Ren to enter the dreams of any spirit who decides to open it.
  • Non-Standard Game Over: Should Shido make a wrong choice, Ren promptly kills one of the spirits then turns against him.
  • No Ontological Inertia: Ren's demise results in her artificial world vanishing.
  • Three Wishes: One of the abilities Ren has is that she can grant three wishes to the other spirits.
