Villains Out Shopping / Skylanders Academy

Go To

The villains of Skylanders Academy don't spend all their time plotting to spread terror or Take Over the World. They also unwind by engaging in mundane activities, which goes to the point where they can do these things without any bystander batting an eye.

  • In the very first episode, while Kaos' main reason for spying on the Skylanders while the fourth years are doing their final exam is not only to get an idea of the surrodings for his surprise attack on the graduation day, he also does it because he wants to know who he should include in his Skylanders fantasy league, leading to this discussion:
Glumshanks: I guess every supervillain needs a pointless hobby. (Kaos hits him with his binoculars) Ow!
Kaos: Don't judge me Glumshanks. I don't mock those little candies you collect.
Glumshanks: That's my anxiety medication, sir.
  • In "My Way or the Sky Way", Kaos' mother Kaossandra tries to invoke this on Kaos by telling him to get a job so he can start paying rent, because she doesn't want him to spend all his days in what is essentially his mother's basement coming up with stupid plots to defeat the Skylanders and take over the world. Kaos gives in, but it doesn't work out when he uses his new occupation to form a new evil plan. And another reason why she sent him to do it was so that she and Glumshanks could spend some quality time together after Glumshanks started assisting Kaos more than her.
  • In "Missing Links", to help Kaos relax after he is getting too stressed up at trying to remember the map to the Core of Light, Glumshanks takes him to a spa made for villains. It doesn't work, as Kaos views it as torture and it instead makes him even more stressed. So to punish Glumshanks for the idea, Kaos makes them wait at the Skylands DMV line, while also taking the chance to renew the troll's toadie license. In the overpan shot of the line, we also see an Arkeyan robot and the drow Berserker waiting as well.
  • In "I Dream of Ninjini", the Doom Raiders spend their first few appearances of the episode simply cleaning their hideout before getting involved with the plot of the episode.
  • In "Thankstaking for the Memories", we find out that there is a holiday that the villains of Skylands celebrate called Thankstaking where they take one weekend off to celebrate and be thankful for all the taking they have done the last year. The heroes celebrate the holiday as well, as it means they can rest easy knowing that no villainy will occur. Oddly enough, the Skylanders act like this holiday is the exception, when we have here an entire page that shows that there are a lot of hobbies they have.
Stealth Elf: It's weird how the baddies decide not to do evil stuff over the long weekend.
Master Eon: I guess evil needs a few days off to recharge its batteries now and then as much as heroes do.
  • When Mother's Day rolls around in "Road Rage", the Doom Raiders leave Kaos' pirate ship to go visit their mothers. Except for Dreamcatcher, who finds it easier to mail her mom a gift as she is currently in another plain of existance.
  • Kaos mentions in "Raiders of the Lost Arkus Part 1" that he has a yoga membership which he is glad he didn't give up as the small bits of flexibility he got from it helps him reach out and cover up all the leaks of the underwater cell Strykore sent him to (even though he found relaxing very torturous in "Missing Links").
  • In the final episode, "Raiders of the Lost Arkus Part 2", the last scene with the Doom Raiders involves them relaxing on their ship after they threw Kaos overboard three episodes prior.
