Written by: Eric Rogers

Now when Spyro has graduated and is a full-fledged Skylander alongside his friends, his former teacher Jet-Vac doesn’t like Spyro’s method of just acting instead of planning ahead. So the elder Skylander invites himself over to the trio’s home to supervise Spyro’s day to day life, putting them at even bigger odds with each other. Meanwhile, Kaos’ mom Kaossandra sends her son out to find a job so he can start paying rent.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Basement-Dweller: This episode shows that the small castle Kaos lives in is just the guest castle to the actual castle that belongs to his mother. He lives there because he spends all his time trying to destroy the Skylanders and taking over Skylands and doesn't use his time to find a job that will actually pay. At the end when Kaossandra says that she was gonna start having Kaos pay rent was so that he wouldn't spend all his time in what is essentially his mother's basement, Kaos decides that it's way more fun to plot the demise of the Skylanders, confirming that he'd rather stay like this.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: What Jet-Vac and Spyro come to realize after the former talks to Eon-planning is important and so is following orders and rules. However, sometimes, one has to act without planning if they want to get things done quickly.
  • Establishing Series Moment: In this episode, Kaos is sent out by his mother to find a job so he can start paying rent after having living without it for so long. Despite being a constant attacker of Skylands and making a near-successful plan in the previous episode, he is able to search for a job and walk on the streets of Skylands without any troubles. This is the first showcase of how despite being villains, they are able to do mundane activities in public without any bystanders batting an eye, which is something that's gonna show up a lot in the series.
    • And on a character-level, the Mabu that Kaos talks to at the Skylands Employment Agency doesn't sound too concerned when he hearts from Kaos that he spends his time trying to destroy the Skylanders, and even gives him a job immediately, and a pretty humiliating one at that. This establishes that Kaos isn't seen as a that big of a threat to Skylands, which plays a big part of his character in later episodes.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: While he's nicer about it, Eon calls Jet-Vac out on being so fixated on the rules that it actively prevented his team from doing their job so long someone else had to do the job.
