It's almost graduation day at Skylanders Academy. With the main characters of the show, Spyro, Stealth Elf and Eruptor being among the ones who will become full fledged Skylanders that day. However, Spyro doesn't take being a defender of Skylands seriously as he has a giant ego. He's gonna have to learn what it actually takes to be a Skylander. All while the Skylanders' biggest enemy, Kaos, is behind the shadows and up to no good, as usual.
This episode provides examples of:
- Break the Haughty: When Spyro fails his graduation exam and getting to hear from Eon why that is, he spends the next day at his room, wallowing away.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Kaos' plan to beat the Skylanders in this episode was not only well thought through, but it also almost succeeded. Later in the season, he tends to make plans that are not as well planned and has a much lower chance of success. That many of the stories in the season involving him are about how non-threatening he is compared to other villains makes the contrast even more jarring.
- Near-Villain Victory: Kaos manages to freeze the Book of Skylanders, and beats Spyro down. Unfortunately, Spyro melts the ice around the book, freeing the Skylanders and allowing them to return the favor to the villains.
- Security Cling: Kaos and Glumshanks land in a field of sheep after getting thrown out of the academy, for which the sheep surrond them for, which makes Glumshanks jump into Kaos' arms.
