There are more things in that book, Victor, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
Jars is an indie strategy/Tower Defense game developed by Polish studio Mousetrap Games, published by Daedalic Entertainment, and released on October 20, 2021 for Steam and Nintendo Switch.

The game's narrative stars a boy named Victor who winds up in his family's dark basement in full prophecy of a mysterious book. The basement is full of creepy nasties that Victor must destroy so his family's prized Sarcophagus is not opened. Each level of the game requires the player to find a new strategy to destroy all the jars and protect the Sarcophagus.

Jars protects the following Tropes:

  • 100% Completion: You must fill the book in with every missing picture and passage of text, which is done so by completing achievements in game.
  • Creepy Basement: Victor winds up in his home's basement by the prophecy of a mysterious book.
  • Real Is Brown: The game's art style lacks large amounts of color with much of the game being shades of brown and gray.
