• Cash-Cow Franchise: XIII is the pride of publisher Dargaud alongside Asterix and Lucky Luke, and a consistent moneymaker as well (their highest-selling adult-skewing comic series).

Mainline XIII Comic Book Series

• Follow the Leader: The first album of the series, The Day of the Black Sun, was heavily inspired by Robert Ludlum's Bourne series.
• In Memoriam: Yves Sente wrote a tribute to the series' original comic book artist, the late William Vance (d. May 14, 2018), on the cover page of The XIII History (published in August 2019).
• Outlived Its Creator: Comic book artist William Vance passed away on May 14, 2018. Writer Yves Sente and comic book artist Youri Jigounov have reprised the main series in 2011 and keep it going since.

XIII Mystery Comic Book Series

• Sequel Gap: Judith Warner was published in 2018. It took until 2024 to see the next in the series, Traquenards et Sentiments.
