• Box Office Bomb: The movie cost $35 million to make and barely made a sixth of it. Despite this, the sequel went ahead almost five years later.
• Creator Killer: Dennis, Ron, Christopher and Jeremy Law never produced another feature film. They were never movie producers to begin with; they were physicians, and the film probably would never have been made if it weren't for their wealthy father, toy manufacturer Joseph Law. • The Other Darrin: Mario Yedidia is replaced by Nathan Phillips as Ryan Jeffers in the sequel.
• Star-Derailing Role: This is the last movie with Mario Yedidia, who never appeared in another theatrically released film.
