Trivia / Warriors Orochi

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Since this is a crossover between Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors along with other Koei Tecmo franchises, expect the voice actors who have roles in these franchises to play multiple roles:
    • Wakana Yamazaki voices both Okuni, Nene and Ayane. It also counts as a Actor Allusion because the latter two characters are both ninjas.
    • Ryōtarō Okiayu voices Orochi, Motochika Chosokabe and the father-son Sima Yi and Shi. He took over Sima Yi's role after his original voice actor passed away in 2013.
    • Hideo Ishikawa voices Jia Xiu, Zhou Tai, Motonari Mouri and Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
    • Daisuke Kishio voices Both Sima Zhao and Taigong Wang.
    • Katsuyuki Konishi voices Shuten Doji, Toshiie Maeda and Naomasa Ii.
    • Hiromu Miyazaki voices Chen Gong and Munenori Yagyu.
    • Shunzou Miyasaka voices both Nezha and Toyohisa Shimazu
    • Nobutoshi Canna voices both Achilles and Cao Pi
    • Hiroshi Okamoto voices Takakage Koyabakawa and Dodomeki.
    • Hisao Egawa voices Cao Ren, Goemon Ishikawa and Yoshihisa Shimazu.
    • Akemi Kanda voices Sanzang and Lianshi.
    • Yuki Makishima voices Nuwa and Kaguya.
    • Kouhei Fukuhara voices Shennong and Diamondback/Mizuchi, though in the very latter's case that applies to all other demon generals that share his model.
    • Takahiro Kawachi voices Sun Ce, Pang Tong and Yoshimoto Imagawa.
    • Hiro Shimono voices Perseus the real one) and Loki.
    • Jurota Kosugi (Nobunaga Oda and Sterkenburg Cranach), Rikiya Koyama (Nemea and Sun Wukong) and Houko Kuwashima (Kasumi and Wang Yi) get two roles after the fourth game removes the guest characters.
  • Content Leak:
    • A Korean pre-order advertisement for Warriors Orochi 4 accidentally revealed Lu Bu's Deification form, making him the eighth and last Warriors character to be deified. By the time Koei released Lu Bu's Deification at the Tokyo Game Show 2018, it doesn't come out as a surprise.
    • Amazon Japan leaked initial information on Warriors Orochi 4: Ultimate prior to its official announcement on August 30, 2019. The page was taken down but the information is still leaked in blog sites.
  • No Dub for You: Warriors Orochi 3 and 4 don't have an English dub due to the huge roster of characters. Hiring the voice actors, most especially the union ones, are extremely expensive these days.
  • No Export for You:
    • Musou Orochi Z was supposed to be released outside of Japan, but the plan was scrapped. However the new content, for whatever reason, can be played on the PlayStation Portable version of Warriors Orochi 2.
    • The Switch port of Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate, made in celebration of Omega Force's 20th anniversary, has yet to leave Japan since its release in 2017.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Due to the voice actors used for Dynasty Warriors 5 and Samurai Warriors 2 coming from different studios (Voice Group and Agile Sound, respectively), characters from the latter series had to be recast with Voice Group actors, some of whom would stick for Samurai Warriors 3.
    • Fu Xi and Nuwa's Japanese voice actors in Dynasty Warriors were Kenji Nojima and Yuuko Sumitomo, respectively; once they were integrated into this series, Hiroki Yasumoto and Yuki Makishima became their respective replacements.
    • Because Junichi Miyake is unable to reprise his role as Guo Jia for Warriors Orochi 4 due to his illness since 2014, Daichi Kanbara would still take over his role which he did with Dynasty Warriors 9.
    • Hojo Ujiyasu is voiced by Masashi Ebara in 4 due to Unshō Ishizuka undergoing cancer treatment at the time. Unsho He would pass away a month before the release of the fourth game, meaning any future role involving Ujiyasu will likely involve a recast, assuming Masashi Ebara is not replaced.
  • Real-Life Relative: In the second and third games, Gracia and Sima Yi were voiced by Real Life married couple Jun Shikano and the late Tsuyoshi Takishita, respectively.
  • Role Reprise: All the voice actors of the guest characters return for this game
  • Uncredited Role: None of the English voice actors were credited in the first two games.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Apparently, the Nintendo games that got the Warriors treatment (Zelda and Fire Emblem) are nearly considered to be included in the fourth game but the producer was ultimately against it citing that including them regardless of their incomplete roster is disrespectful towards the fans.
    • An earlier iteration of Warriors Orochi 4 evolved into Warriors All-Stars.
    • According to the Q&A portion at the 2019 Musou Festival, Lu Xun was supposed to have a Deification form but he didn't make it to the final cut because he's not a Frontline General.
