Trivia / Twice Gleeful

Go To

  • Ascended Fanon: While it hasn't quite come to play thus far, the author is more than willing to make other people's headcanons for her Original Characters canon within the story.
  • Development Gag: Rajeesh, the Indian Glee club member from Glee's original draft that would eventually be replaced by Kurt, is made into a proper character here.
    • Also from the original draft is Robbie Williams' "Let Me Entertain You" as an introductory number for Vocal Adrenaline. In the show, it was replaced with "Rehab", but the idea is restored in "Adrenaline Rush".
  • Development Hell: The most recent chapters took several weeks to be finished, and the story is currently in an indefinite hiatus.
  • Genius Bonus: The new guidance counselor, Anabiel, is named after an angel meant to be called upon to cure stupidity, and the incenses she tends to use all have specific meanings.
  • Reality Subtext: Brittany teaching the Rising Phoenix kids the Single Ladies dance in "Busted", which also doubles as a Continuity Nod.
  • Recycled Script: One reviewer and fellow fic writer from Glee Forum noticed, right away, how much the plot of "Breath of Fresh Air" resembled that of "Showmance".
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The whole story was originally intended to be called Glee: Here I Go Again and serve as a Whole-Plot Reference to Mamma Mia!, complete with an all-ABBA soundtrack. The new Glee club also had several different names during the development process before Rising Phoenix was ultimately chosen.
    • "Snowbound" was originally going to include a subplot involving Paloma's crush on Roxanne, but it was cut due to length restrictions (each chapter tends to have nine to eleven pages on Microsoft Word).
