- Channel Hop: Top Boy’s two original seasons were originally aired on Channel 4 before being cancelled. Then when Drake bought the show it was brought to Netflix.
- Friendly Fandoms: With fans of Starz series Power and its spinoffs. Similarities aside, with both shows revolving around the personal lives of criminal drug kingpins, Power stars Joseph Sikora and 50 Cent both are fans of Top Boy. Sikora even petitioned for a Power/Top Boy crossover after Top Boy series 4 dropped.
- Star-Making Role: Micheal Ward won the BAFTA rising star award for his role in the show and for starring in Blue Story.
