• Actor-Inspired Element: Tommy Lee's "Mayhem" tattoo is real, although it actually refers to his own first band, Methods of Mayhem.
• The Danza: Lilly Singh plays Nora Singh.
• Defictionalization: The studio album The Electric Mayhem can be purchased by actual people from actual stores and played on actual LP turntables.
• Production Posse:
  • The series reunites writer Adam Goldberg with Michael Giacchino, who previously composed for The Muppets' Wizard of Oz which Goldberg co-wrote. Here, Giacchino produces the score, which is composed by his son, Mick Giacchino.
  • The The Muppets (2015) production design crew, headed by Denise Pizzini, returns for this series (including former Barney the Dinosaur voice actor Bob West doing graphic arts). Riki Lindhome who appeared in the 2015 series also appears in episode eight as a different character.
• Role Reprise: Aside from the Muppeteers such as Bill Baretta as Dr. Teeth and Eric Jacobson as Animal, Peter Linz and Dave Goelz reprise Statler and Waldorf for the Season 1 finale.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Peter Linz gets his first major role as Lips, previously performed by Steve Whitmire.
  • In the Japanese dub, Mitsuru Ogata replaces the late Nachi Nozawa as Zoot from the dub of The Muppet Show.
• What Could Have Been:
  • As revealed in the NYCC panel, the show was initially going to have a less-grounded tone. One such idea from this incarnation was J.J., previously the bagel boy at the record company, was a literal bagel boy (as in a Muppet bagel).
  • In an interview with Gizmodo, Bill Baretta revealed that the crew considered having Kermit and Miss Piggy appear but decided against it.
• You Look Familiar:
  • Riki Lindhome appears as a Justin Bieber fan. She previously played Fozzie's girlfriend Becky on The Muppets (2015).
  • Kristen Schaal plays Floyd's assistant Jenny after playing the anger management group moderator in The Muppets (2011).
