- Acting for Two: One episode has the saucer recalled to Fi and Fum's home planet, where their creators are also played by Ruth Buzzi and Jim Nabors in age makeup.
- Actor Allusion: Jim Nabors as Fum is really not too awfully different from his character of Gomer Pyle from The Andy Griffith Show.
- Creator Backlash: Jim Nabors. hated to do the show because he wasn't comfortable with the room for improvisation in the scripts. Ruth Buzzi was fine with it, though.
- The Danza: Jarrod Johnson, and Alice Playten, as Jerry and his babysitter Alice.
- Dueling Shows: Ironically, with CBS' Far Out Space Nuts, which was another Krofft show that came out the same year, and basically was a carbon copy of this show.
