The film
- Billing Displacement: Shailene Woodley as Anna the therapist appears for two scenes, but is billed third, above everybody in Vada's inner circle besides Mia.
- Channel Hop: The film was initially going to be distributed by Universal Pictures in international territories. However in 2021, the film was purchased by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema in all territories.
- The Cast Showoff: Mia is mentioned to be a dancer, and we see snippets of some of her routines. Her actress Maddie Ziegler rose to fame as a professional dancer.
- Fake Mixed Race: Vada is mixed race with a white mother and Latino father. Her actress, Jenna Ortega, is fully Latina.
