- Acting for Two: Rob Paulsen gets a real workout in this one. Not only does he reprise his role as Mark Chang, but he voices every male Canon Foreigner in the game.
- No Export for You: Averted this time around. The video games for The Fairly OddParents that came before this one were never released outside of the United States, due to Nelvana having the full consumer product rights to the show internationally when those games were being made. However, Shadow Showdown DID get an international release in PAL regions. The PAL version removes the Nickelodeon logo from the game's front cover and replaces all references to Nickelodeon on the back cover's copyright information with references to Nelvana. It even went as far as to having the Nelvana logo replace the Nick Games logo when it boots up.
- Preview Piggybacking: The American release of the game comes with previews to Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams, The Sponge Bob Movie Game, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius: Attack of the Twonkies and Avatar: The Last Airbender. However, the PAL version removes these trailers, due to Nelvana having the rights to The Fairly OddParents in those regions at the time instead of Nickelodeon.
- What Could Have Been: There was supposed to be an Xbox version of the game, but it got cancelled. Leftovers from it are also still present in the final versions of the game.
