• Fake Nationality: None of the characters are portrayed by actors from their respective nationalities. The Dutch Jewish Mieke de Jong is portrayed by the English Lily James, the Australian Jai Courtney is the German Stefan Brandt, the Canadian Christopher Plummer portrays the German Wilhelm II and the rest of the characters are portrayed by English actors with the exception of Belgian Kris Cuppens who plays Pastor Hendriks.
• Typecasting: Once again, Lily James is cast in a period drama, much like her other roles in films and TV shows such as Downton Abbey, Cinderella (2015), Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and War and Peace. At least this one role is a Hotter and Sexier spy, compared to her previous roles.
