• Acting for Two: All vocalizations in the short, including Courage's line of dialogue at the end, were done by Howard Hoffman.
• Adored by the Network: The short was not originally going to spawn its own series, and only became one through Cartoon Network funding it.
• What Could Have Been:
  • John Dilworth originally pitched a series based on his indie short The Dirdy Birdy to Cartoon Network, but they didn't bite, so he asked if they would co-produce his next indie film, this one, so it could be aired on the What A Cartoon! Show.
  • Cartoon Network offered to outsource the animation for both the short and the series through Hanna-Barbera, but Dilworth preferred keeping production local at his own studio, Stretch Films.
