Trivia / Stolen from the Suburbs

Go To

  • Dawson Casting: A slight case, as Sydney Sweeney was 17, playing 16-year-old Emma.
  • Old Shame: In a 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan, Sydney Sweeney was asked if there were "any roles you look back on now and, well, cringe just a little?", and she replied "Anything before Everything Sucks! and Sharp Objects", a category that includes this movie (made three years before those two shows).
  • Post-Release Retitle: Even considering this is Lifetime, where films often change titles between production and air, it's not entirely clear if the title is supposed to be Stolen from the Suburbs or Stolen from Suburbia. It initially aired as the former, but its production studio MarVista has also generated artwork with the latter. IMDB has it as the latter, but Tubi lists it under the former. [X] in Suburbia is one of Lifetime's Mad Lib Thriller Title templates, and this film's director Alex Wright later directed Lifetime's Sleepwalking In Suburbia, which muddies the waters even more.
  • Separated-at-Birth Casting: Sydney Sweeney could easily pass for the daughter of Cynthia Watros in Real Life (mostly based on their shared blonde hair and similar facial structures).
