  • Development Hell: The game was pushed back several times, and came out fully four years after the initially scheduled release of the first part.
  • Schedule Slip: The game was initially planned to be released in two parts, with the first part being slated for 2018. As the year in question came by, plans for dividing the game was scrapped and it was announced the game would've been released in full, but there was otherwise radio silence about the game until 2020 when it got a new trailed that slated the game's release for 2021 - which did not happen, the end of said year which got an annoucement that the game would've been released on October of 2022. The last time a slip happened, Ebb Software pushed up the release date earlier, moving from October 21st to October 14th, with the trailer announcing the final release date being titled "You've waited long enough...".
  • Word of God: According to the devs the game isn't set in a real place, but within someone's nightmare. "Scorn Guy" being the avatar of both the player and the dreamer within the nightmare. Hence, why he seems to know where he is going and why, despite the player never being told.
  • What Could Have Been: Due to the games Development Hell, as well as them scrapping most of the game's model work mid-development, a lot of ideas didn't make it into the final release - some of which can be seen in trailers, kickstarter screenshots, the 2017 demo, or described in the artbook:
    • The gun was originally going to attach itself to you via a tendril inserted into your forearm.
    • You were going to have a stone-like "Key" that glowed.
    • The store description, Kickstarter page and artbook present the ability to non-linearly explore the areas whereas the finished product is strictly linear except for the first puzzle.
    • Two areas called the Tower and the Blasted Labyrinth were planned with the latter being focused on the Homunculi.
    • The artbook mentions the possibility of two more endings: one in which the protagonist kills the parasite, and another in which he becomes a cyborg - both seemingly after removing it.
    • The grenade launcher was originally more organic in appearance, as well as a normal part of your arsenal. Plus, it was stronger.
    • There was going to be a kidney-shaped acid gun.
