Trivia / Rayman M

Go To

  • Bad Export for You: For some reason, the American PS2 version removed several shortcuts and secret areas the other versions had, such as the sunbathing Globox in Thousand Waterfalls and the secret routes in Dawn Sand and Zenith Harbour, and lacks the ending cutscene.
  • New Work, Recycled Graphics: Many of the game's character and environment models are reused from Rayman 2: The Great Escape.
  • No Export for You: Neither version of the game was released in Japan.
  • The Other Darrin: Globox is now voiced here by Joe Sheridan, replacing Doug Rand from Rayman 2.
  • Refitted for Sequel: Or port, in this case. Dark Globox was originally meant to be playable in the original PlayStation 2 and PC releases (as evidenced by the demo for PS2 version having an extra character slot), but is not present in the final game. He would later become playable in the Gamecube and Xbox versions instead.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The demo for the PlayStation 2 version has nine character slots instead of eight, implying that Dark Globox was intended to be playable in all versions of M/Arena rather than being added later for the GameCube and Xbox versions.
    • Ly was originally intended to be a playable character, and apparently made it far enough that she can be seen on the game's cover and even some loading screens before being cut for unknown reasons.
    • A ninja henchman was also intended to be playable, if a piece of promo art is any indication.
    • Tily looked slightly different from her appearance in the final game, possessing blue hair, larger wings and full fingers instead of "mitts".
    • Additional alternate skins for Globox and the Teensies were found in the files for M. The first two skins were later reused for Arena, though another Globox skin remains unused.

Alternative Title(s): Rayman Arena
