• Adaptation First: The 80's anime was released in India, but not the original manga.
• Cross-Dressing Voices:
  • Kenichi, Hattori and Shinzō are played by female voice actors (Masako Sugaya, Junko Hori and Yuuko Mita) in the original Japanese version.
  • This is averted in English dub. Hattori and Kenichi are voiced by male voice actors.
• Dueling Dubs: There are two English dubs of the series; one by Nickelodeon India and one by Disney Channel Asia. There are some differences between the dubs, such as the theme song (which is only dubbed in the Nick India version) and the voices.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: Some of the sound effects are also used in Doraemon and other series.
• International Coproduction: Averted by the 1980's anime. Played straight by the 2012 reboot, a co-production between Japan and India.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes:
  • The live-action television drama is very difficult to find on the internet. Only a few episodes can be found easily.
  • The Disney Channel Asia English dub is very difficult to find online. As of 2018, only 17 episodes and some promos have been found of the dub.
  • Some episodes and specials are difficult to find at all, to the point where they can be considered lost media. An example of this is the movie Ninja Hattori kun-Nin Nin Enikki no Maki. This is miscredited as the second movie when it's actually the first one.
  • The Latin American dub is this, as only five episodes of it can be found online, and it's only broadcasted regularly on a Peruvian channel.
• Long-Runners: The series was created in 1964, and it has been popular ever since.
• No Export for You:
  • Nickelodeon India produces and airs an English dub of the series. For a while, this dub was never given a release outside of India, but some seasons^note Season 5 of the classic series (mislabeled as season 2) and seasons 1 and 2 of the 2012 series were eventually released on Netflix in the West in 2018.
  • Despite the huge popularity of the show in India, the original comics have yet to be released there.
• The Other Darrin: The English dub produced by Nickelodeon India has had different voice actors over the years. The new series also has different voice actors from the old series.
• Referenced by...: Just like it has referenced Doraemon, Doraemon has referenced it in a few different episodes where the characters can be seen reading Ninja Hattori.
• Multiple Languages, Same Voice Actor: The Castilian Spanish and Galician themes are sung by the same singer, Maika Aguado. There's a whole video covering this example, which is especially strange since the Castilian dub for Ninja Hattori was done in Seville at the SURCO studio (rather than Barcelona as typical with Luk Internacional's dubs at the time) and not Galicia. What a busy guy.
