- Channel Hop: Mudhoney started on Sub Pop, then moved to Reprise Records after Sub Pop began having financial problems and Nirvana's success led to major labels signing Grunge bands. However, they didn't do well on Reprise, so they returned to Sub Pop and have remained with the label ever since.
- Doing It for the Art: A big factor in the dissolution of Mark Arm's previous band, Green River, and the founding of Mudhoney. Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament wanted to pursue a major record deal while Mark wanted to remain with an independent label. This came to a head for Green River's last show when Gossard and Ament invited a number of record label executives (of which only two attended) instead of any friends or acquaintances. The band soon after broke up and Gossard and Ament formed Mother Love Bone (and later Pearl Jam) while Mark formed Mudhoney.
