  • Market-Based Title: The Japanese title is: "Mr. Bean is causing trouble at Cannes?!"
  • Real-Life Relative: Rowan Atkinson's daughter Lily portrayed the girl named Lily in the opening scene.
  • Recycled Script: The scene with the seafood platter rehashes the restaurant episode from the original TV series in which Bean orders Steak Tartare and, upon realizing it's not a cooked dish, tries to dispose of it in various ways, including hiding it in a woman's handbag.
    • The scene where Mr Bean tries to entertain Stepan on the train by sticking bits of paper to his face and making funny expressions is also reused from the episode Mr Bean Rides Again where Bean tries to entertain a sick child on a plane by doing the same thing.
  • Same Content, Different Rating: The film recieved a G rating in the United States but a PG rating in the United Kingdom, while the first film also has a PG rating in the United Kingdom, it has a PG-13 rating in the United States.
  • What Could Have Been: The original idea for the film was Mr. Bean going to Australia instead of France, and he would've gotten married and have a disastrous honeymoon.
  • Working Title: The film was originally produced as French Bean.
