• No Budget: The game was a project made by ~15 people with crowdfunded money.
• Official Fan-Submitted Content: Army In Black/Pink, Il Pianto della Luna, Parasite Tree, Clouded Monk, Backward Clock, Ppodae and Melting Love were all created by Tumblbug^note a Korean crowdfunding website backers.
• What Could Have Been:
  • A number of Abnormalities were considered for the game but didn't make the cut. Information about them exists in the game's official website and artbook. Examples include "Clown Smiling at Me", a portrait of a Monster Clown, "Pale Horse", a light blue horse with a long mane and tail and "Silent Girl", an eerie woman carrying a hammer and nail behind her back.^note Curiously, Silent Girl was briefly implemented in Library of Ruina, before that game's Abnormality system was decided, only to be scrapped again and re-implemented as a part of the final battles in that game.
  • A trio of Abormalities (Hammer of Light, Price of Silence, Poor Screenwriter's Note) were present in the Legacy version of the game, but weren't carried over to its launch version.
  • The beta designs of the Sephirot and Angela◊ had them sport a light skin tone as opposed to the current sheet white color, as well as a much more cartoony, slightly blockier style that wouldn't look out of place in Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. Furthermore:
    • Hod in particular had short, orange hair (although she already had current Hod's signature hairclips). Her original pose also had her saluting.
    • The Tiphereths had heterochromia (light and dark green) that was reversed with each of them. They were also dressed reminiscent of how Rin and Len were dressed in the music video of Okochama Sensou.
    • Gebura lacked her scars.
    • Chesed's armband had the letter 'H' on it instead of the 'C', implying that his name might've been 'Hesed' as that is another rendition of his name.
    • Yesod did not have his turtleneck and lacked his signature crossed arms pose.
  • It was was originally planned that the three Magical Girls would have their own Apocalypse Bird-style special event if all three of them breached. This idea never materialized out of difficulty to properly execute this in the game. This was later Hand Waved by the fact that the fourth Magical Girl needed to cause the event, the Servant of Wrath, is in a different branch of Lobotomy Corporation. However, Library of Ruina shows what happens when you assemble all the Magical Girls in one, when Roland taps into all of their powers at once during the fifth Floor Realization, turning into the Jester of Nihil.
• Word of God:
  • According to a Project Moon Q&A, the name of the sister in Dream of a Black Swan's backstory (Elijah) being the same as Malkuth's real name is not intentional.
  • The Black Forest birds (Punishing Bird, Big Bird and Judgement Bird) are supposed to represent an authoritarian government. Library of Ruina implies that government is the City, the setting of both games.
  • The artbook reveals that the Manual the player uses in-game is an abnormality, specifcally designated as "O-09-05."
