• Creator Backlash:
  • Subverted. She isn't ashamed of the incest angle between her and Paul. She said it could potentially have been interesting, depending on how they booked it. But it was ended too soon for her to have a real opinion on it.
  • She however wasn't keen on her TNA pushes. She criticised the bad booking of her losing the title to Mickie only to regain it a month later.
• Fake Brit: Sort of. She's born and raised in Germany but wrestled entirely in England. She was billed completely from Chelsea while in WWE and her Germanic background was never acknowledged. According to the lady herself, her accent sounds English to American ears, even though it's actually Germanic.
• Friendship on the Set:
  • The Bella Twins loved working with Katie Lea, and praised her for helping them understand a lot when they debuted.
  • Maria Kanellis too loved her, and in an interview shortly after their releases, she got sad about Katie Lea being let go, saying "how did that happen?"
• Promoted Fangirl: She was a fan of American wrestling before she had even watched a show and didn't even know pro wrestling existed in Europe. She wasn't much of a fan of the local product when she first discovered it either but eventually sought out NWA UK Hammerlock to get training anyway.
• Serendipity Writes the Plot:
  • Her and Paul Burchill's controversial Incest Subtext storyline had to be quietly stopped, despite Vince McMahon's enthusiasm for it, as WWE were in the process of switching to PG at the time.
  • A storyline involving her and Paul being kicked off ECW and trying to sneak back in disguise was stopped when Melina suffered a torn ACL on Raw, had to vacate the Divas' Championship, and Katie Lea had to be moved to Raw to make up numbers in a tournament to crown a new champion.
• What Could Have Been:
  • In 2009 she teamed with Mickie James on a series of house shows, playing a face for the first time in her WWE career. This was around the time she and Paul Burchill were kayfabe fired from ECW but that storyline was dropped when ECW was cancelled and Katie quietly got moved to Raw.
  • The creative team were caught off guard by her 2010 release, as they had been planning to move her to Smackdown in the draft. As Beth Phoenix would go down with an injury not long after winning the Women's Championship, a face turn could have happened and Katie could have feuded with LayCool. Her 'Beautiful Nightmare' persona would have made a fitting contrast to their Alpha Bitch characters.
  • It was believed that she and Paul would have faced both Mickie James and Kofi Kingston at SummerSlam for the Women's and Intercontinental Championships. However their build up was aborted and Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella were put in the match instead.
