• Awesome, Dear Boy: The film cast all participated because they found the concept hilarious. Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña even took part even though they were busy filming other projects at the time^note Pratt shot his sequence while on set of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and the crew of that movie pitched in on their own time because they thought it was funny.
• Development Gag: "The Sneepers", the fictional band the song is credited too, was also the name of an alien race James Gunn created during the development of Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), which was ultimately unused in that film.
• Feelies: The Ultra HD Blu-Ray comes with a poster of Hasselhoff and the Sneepers.^note Unlike the one in the page image, the robot doesn't have a mask.
• Spoiled by the Merchandise: Two weeks before GotG Vol. 2 premiered in the US, "My daddy was a planet!" revealed one oddity about Ego that the trailers tried to hide from moviegoers who never read his comics.
• What Could Have Been: James Gunn's originally planned to not include Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldaña because he knew they had other filming commitments. The two confronted him when they heard about the music video and said they'd make time for it so he added parts for them.
