Trivia / Fire Emblem: Champion's Sword

Go To

  • Adaptation First: Champion's Sword began serialization in December 2001 in the now-defunct Monthly Shounen Jump, three months before The Binding Blade hit the markets, though it wouldn't have volume releases until April 2002.
  • Franchise Killer: Champion's Sword was partly responsible for putting an end to Fire Emblem manga (Not counting various Yonkomas) after it finished its run. This is largely due to the poor reception it had received, with criticism being directed at the overall plot messing up the lore of Elibe, such as the reveal that Al's true father is Hartmut, Al and friends stealing too much spotlight from the cast of Binding Blade, and various continuity errors it had with both it and its prequel, Blazing Blade. It also didn't help that the manga ended around the same time the franchise was beginning to decline in sales. Because of this, Fire Emblem wouldn't see manga adaptations ever againnote  until 2012, when Awakening received a manga that was published on Nintendo Dream, and two more games would get their own manga as well.
  • No Export for You: As usual for most Fire Emblem manga, Champion's Sword was never released outside of Japan, and even though it was still ongoing at the time The Blazing Blade hit international markets, it is still barred from exports, as Nintendo and Shueisha had no interest in releasing the Manga overseas.
