Trivia / Fighter's History

Go To

  • Franchise Ownership Acquisition: After Data East went out of business, the Fighter's History series was bought by G-Mode, a company based in Japan that produces games for mobile phones. To date G-Mode has made one game related to the Fighter's History series, Garou Densetsu vs. Fighter's History Dynamite, which was a Beat 'em Up crossover with SNK's Fatal Fury.
  • No Export for You: Fighter's History: Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!! was initially not released in North America, until 2017 when it was one of the included titles on the Super Retrocade system.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • In the original arcade version of the first game, Clown is the only character who doesn't have his name being announced. This is due to the fact that he was originally meant to be called "Joker", given that a name announcing voice clip of it is contained from within the game's sound test. It's most likely that Data East had changed his name at the very last second right before the game's official release date on account that they didn't want to get him mixed-up and confused with the DC Comics character of the same name and thus they didn't have time to swap in a new name announcing voice clip for him. Luckily, the SNES version rectifies this in having the announcer say his new name right before a fight.
    • Also in the original arcade version of the first game, there is an unknown character whose unused graphics are left and seen from within the game's main data and given the fact that his appearance makes him look like a Super Saiyan, it's quite possible that this unknown character was originally meant and intended to be the final boss instead of Karnov.
    • In addition to the Super Saiyan-esque character as already mentioned above, there is another unknown character in the original arcade version of the first game whose unused graphics are left and seen from within the game's main data, with said character's appearance being based on Arnold Schwarzenegger's role as the T-800. It's unknown on whether or not this character would've either been playable or as a boss much like Clown and Karnov.
