Season 1
Apocalypse
- Adam and Kai failing to rescue Mira after their airship crashes in the ocean.
The Lighthouse
- When Kai and Adam think Mira is dead in episode 3. What makes it worse is that Kai storms off, blaming Adam for Mira's death, and he's not completely wrong about it.
Ice
- Mira crying when she and Adam find Kai in a block of ice.
- Adam getting hurt. It's clear that both Kai and Mira are affected by it, especially since they're not sure he'll be alright.
- What makes it even worse is that Kai wasted their last help earlier helping the very people later responsible for harming Adam, which leaves them unable to teleport somewhere warm.
Colrath
- Vanessa's telling Kai she used him before letting him fall. Kai put up with Reeve just to stay with her, so the revelation that she was only using him had to have been heartbreaking.
Season 2
- Kai's parents are nowhere to be seen and this is apparently normal for him, and he later compares Adam and Reeve's constant arguing while Mira is stuck in the middle to him overhearing his parents' constant feuds.
- Skeet's death and everyone else's reactions. Mira begs him Please Wake Up, as Adam tries to revive him and Kai calls for Weirdy. There's no Disney Death, no Faking the Dead, no Almost Dead Guy. The guy is Dead. Somewhat thankfully, it was a digital copy of Skeet, and the real one is still very much alive. But this just means the digital copies of everyone else will most likely never see him again.
- Vanessa's Jerkass Realization when Kai points out that she tried to kill him and his friends back in season one. While it's awesome for Kai that he calls her out, Vanessa's defense that she knew they weren't really going to die falls flat as Kai reminds her that their memories were wiped, and the game was real to them.
- Reeve becomes Driven to Suicide when learning they're all digital copies and sentient thanks to Vanessa cheating. He suggests they should just try to die before the game reset kills them. Fortunately, saving the animals in the fairy tale forest snaps him out of it.
