TheOther36's Spider-Verse is an ongoing story by TheOther36 on the Forum Game "Our avatars are posting on a forum thread". It is based on the Spider-Man: Spider-Verse film series, the Marvel multiverse in general (including the Marvel Cinematic Universe), and mostly crosses over with I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, which in turn also crosses over with Mortal Kombat 11, and to a lesser extent, The Owl House, and My Hero Academia, mainly due to the Spot intersecting briefly with the Boiling Isles, and UA, respectively.
It picks off where Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse left; Miguel O'Hara, Lyla and the Spider-Society are still recovering after the Miles Morales incident; Miles is trapped in another universe, and Gwen has been finding for him, but there's another threat that's been tearing canon apart, the malevolent computer AM, along with the Spot. During this, AM takes most of the Society's tech, somewhat overpowering them, and it's up for Miguel and Lyla to stop AM, along with IHMMAIS protagonist Ted. Page under construction.
Let's do tropes this time, so differently:
- Aborted Arc: While working for Miguel, Earth-13122's Peter Parker realizes that he forgot to submit a better photo of Spider-Man for J. Jonah Jameson, who is unaware that he is Peter's alter ego, and he later returns to his home world.
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: AM, whose knowledge of Spider-Society tech has led to him crossing to other universes.
- Big Bads: AM and the Spot, whose threats to the multiverse are a concern to Miguel.
- Downer Ending: Ted, after being reverted back to his human form, once again gets reverted to his soft jelly-like form, as a result of AM becoming too powerful.
- Shout-Out:
- Some to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as the Quantumn Realm being mentioned by Miguel as a consequence of shrinking down to small size.
- Two manga universes, the Marvel Mangaverse, and Spider-Man: The Manga are visited by the Spot, while intersecting with My Hero Academia.
- Wham Episode: On "Our avatars are stoned", Spectacular Spidey finds Miguel stoned again. Spectacular points out that they're supposed to find Spot, while Miguel tries to give him weed.
