  • Adaptational Species Change: In the Google Translated rom of Emerald, Patterrz ran into a Zigzagoon that claimed to be his "wild father". Then he killed it. When he went to fight Norman, it was then confirmed that Norman was indeed the Zigzagoon, back from the dead, ready to battle.
  • Adaptational Villainy:
    • Silver was already a Jerkass, but in "I became a Team Rocket Grunt in Pokemon!", he's not just the angsty son of Giovanni... He is Giovanni, in disguise, to follow Patterrz around and prevent him from taking over Team Rocket. He also let his team flounder and only kicked him out for being too competent.
    • The player characters themselves were occasionally re-imagined as a Team Rocket Grunt and a Mad Scientist in a few videos, going from normal kids and heroes to criminals just trying to fulfill their own goals.
    • Professor Birch raised his son, Burendan, specifically so he could later transplant his brain into Burendan's body and live longer.
  • Bears Are Bad News: The "Legends Arcues" skit involves a new trainer being eaten by an Ursaring just a few minutes after leaving town for the first time.
  • Comically Small Bribe: Instead of fighting Crasher Wake, he simply traded him half a dozen eggs for the badge. It worked.
  • Deconstructive Parody: Many of his skits mock quirks of the Pokemon world by showing what they'd be like if they were real. For instance, being unable to run from a trainer battle locks many people in bad situations, like a newbie trainer having to fight the champion's level 100 team.
  • Friendly Enemy: In "Pokemon in 20 Years", Ash and Team Rocket have bonded enough to chat casually about their days while playing out the usual "steal Pikachu, blasting off again" routine. Ash congratulates James on the fact that he and Jessie are having a second child, and James apologizes for being late to try and steal Pikachu.
  • Hollywood Hacking: In the fusion series, Patterrz undoes the fusion experiment just by typing random things into the Hall of Fame computers, with a lot of green text and Techno Babble.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: One skit showed how mons felt when being used by a dumb trainer. Two of them, Seviper and Pikachu, drink to cope with the frustration of being sent into battles they had no advantage in.
  • Jerkass: CIA John repeatedly taunts Patterrz with the threat of going to an American torture prison for creating the fusions. Even after defeating all of Team Rocket, as John forced him to do, he was still nearly arrested and John continued to mock him for it.
  • Mad Scientist: The protagonist of the fusion series is a scientist who accidentally fused together all Pokemon in the world, and now needs to go on a quest to fix it.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: In "I Tried to Beat Pokemon with Only Random Eggs", he attempts to charm Cheryl... Only to awkwardly ask if she likes eggs.
  • Paper Tiger: In his Fighting-Type Nuzlocke, the reason for why his Machoke isn't coming to fight Cyrus is that it's "scared of terrorists" despite being a buff monster.
  • Police Are Useless: A few of his skits poke fun at the fact that cops in the Pokemon world only seem to care about whether or not kids are out late, ignoring or sleeping through various terrorist activities but snapping to action when a ten year old is walking around at night.
  • Who's on First?: One Aqua Admin is named "No Idea". It leads to a bit of confusion when asked about.
