Peter, Neal, and Neal's father are on the verge of obtaining the evidence box. However, Senator Pratt grows suspicious of their actions and, aware of the damning contents within the box, tries to locate it before they do.


  • All for Nothing: Neal and Peter risked everything to get the evidence box hoping it would contain the evidence that would clear James’s name. In the end, Neal discovers that the box contains evidence that James did shoot his supervising officer.
  • The Corpse Stops Here: When Callaway finds Peter standing over Senator Pratt's body, she arrests him for murder, even though Peter insists that James was the one who shot him.
  • I Didn't Mean to Kill Him: After fatally shooting Pratt, James tells Peter that he did not mean to do that.
  • Instant Death Bullet: Pratt instantly dies after James shoots him in the chest.
  • Killing in Self-Defense: James shoots Pratt in self-defense after Pratt pulls a gun on him, gloating that everyone will believe that he is the one who shot James in self-defense.
  • Miranda Rights: Callaway reads Peter his Miranda rights when she arrests him for Pratt’s murder.
  • Never Going Back to Prison: Neal begs James to turn himself in and clear Peter’s name. James refuses and walks away because he does not want to go back to prison.
  • Punny Name: Sara jokes that her and Neal’s children would have been called Conrad and Connie.
  • Stop, or I Will Shoot!: After James shoots Pratt, he points his gun at Peter, saying that he does not want to go to prison. Peter then draws his own gun and threatens to shoot James if he does not drop his gun.
  • Tempting Fate: Towards the beginning of the episode, Peter promises Elizabeth that he will be arresting Pratt the following day and take her out on dinner as a celebration. At the end of the episode, Peter is wrongfully arrested for Pratt’s murder, leaving his promise to Elizabeth unfulfilled.
  • Throwing Out the Script: Neal and Sara have to fake a marriage proposal to get access to the top of the Empire State Building. Neal had a fake speech prepared but in the end he decides to speak from the heart and both of them start genuinely crying.
  • Turn in Your Badge: Callaway orders Peter to turn in his gun and badge when she catches him wearing Neal’s anklet so that she can’t track down Neal.
  • You Wouldn't Shoot Me: After James shoots Pratt, James points his gun at Peter because he doesn’t want to get arrested. Peter then raises his gun as well and threatens to shoot if James doesn’t drop his gun. James confidently says that Peter would never shoot him but Peter fires off a warning shot to show that he means business.
