Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 2 E 49 Deadcon 1

Go To

A convention centre called "Plump Towers" is opening up, and the owner, J. Portman Plump, announces the first users: a convention of dentists in costumes. Mayor Lenny then notes that there's also a second convention called Deadcon 1, which Plump supposes are undertakers. However, when they show up, they turn out to be ghosts instead.

The Ghostbusters are called to Plump Towers, but then they mistake one of the dentists for a ghost due to his costume and nearly miss him. Plump tells the Ghostbusters off and confiscates their proton packs, but tells him to get rid of the ghosts without them. Thus, the Ghostbusters go undercover — Ray at the front desk, Egon as the bellhop, Winston as the phone operator, and Peter working room service. They all get bonked around a bit, but none get seriously hurt or endangered, nor do they find any useful information.

The Ghostbusters then learn that Deadcon 1's opening banquet will happen at the same time as the dentists' masquerade ball. Then, they start making food in the kitchen. Plump enters and reveals that Deadcon 1 ordered a lot of hot chocolate, and then the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man enters with Janine revealing that she released him because Ray told her to do whatever the Deadcon ghosts say, and that they want him as their keynote speaker.

As Stay Puft practices his speech, Peter and Ray eavesdrop on the Deadcon ghosts, who talk about executing Doomsday. The Ghostbusters all run to get their proton packs back, while the Deadcon ghosts kidnap Plump and join the dentists' ball. The Ghostbusters then start trapping the ghosts, but get surrounded. Peter starts a conga line, then traps most of the rest of them, then he and Egon trap the ghosts who kidnapped Plump, with Ray rescuing Plump. He thanks them, and they drive off, belatedly realising they forgot to trap Stay Puft.
