The night of the Fall Formal is interrupted when Vilgax finally makes his return and attacks the city. But things get worse when Vilgax reveals Flash's secret to the entire world, outing his identity as the alien heroes.
- Cliffhanger: The chapter ends with Flash trapped in the Null Void, with Vilgax deciding he'll destroy Flash's home before continuing his search for him, and the creator of the Omnitrix deciding it is time for him to retrieve his creation.
- Continuity Nod: Flash's old bandmates are seen again since throwing Flash out of the band. Unfortunately, they're suffering because not only are they having trouble finding a new guitar player, but since Flash was the one who wrote most of the band's songs, they have to start over from scratch.
- Do Not Adjust Your Set: Vilgax hijacks the signal of anything connected to the internet or broadcasting a signal of some kind, including phones, laptops, TVs, etc., and announces his invasion of the planet and reveals Flash's secret to the entire world, while also directly ordering Flash to surrender the Omnitrix or he will destroy every city on the planet until he has it.
- Evil Is Petty: Flash's parents urge him to just give Vilgax the Omnitrix if that's all he wants. But Flash says that won't do any good because even if he did give it to Vilgax, Vilgax has already been humiliated by the Earth too many times in the past, so he won't be satisfied until he has his revenge on the entire planet.
- Foreshadowing: Upon seeing that Flash had gained several new aliens since they last faced off, Vilgax is slightly worried, with the narration noting that he was aware there were a handful of aliens in the Omnitrix he couldn't defeat. Flash ends up getting one such alien in the next chapter.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Vilgax uses a Null Void projector to try to force Flash to surrender the Omnitrix, under threat of being trapped in a hellhole like the Null Void forever. But Flash is accidentally knocked into the portal by one of Vilgax's drones, and a rock had destroyed the projector, cutting Vilgax off from the Omnitrix once again.
- Never My Fault: Vilgax attempts to force a Sadistic Choice on Flash, threatening to let him be pulled into the Null Void unless he surrenders the Omnitrix. But when one of his drones accidentally knocks Flash into the portal, Vilgax growls that Flash "couldn't even fall for a bluff correctly", ignoring how he was the one who put him in that situation in the first place.
- Not Brainwashed: Flash's old bandmates momentarily think that Flash is dating Adagio because she got her powers back and brainwashed him again. Adagio, who was standing right behind them, tells them she didn't do anything to his mind and she just finds him fun.
- Removing the Crucial Teammate: Flash's old band is mentioned to be experiencing some negative effects from ejecting Flash as not only are they having trouble finding a new guitarist, but they have to start over and write new songs from scratch because their old songs were mostly written by him.
- Running Gagged: Throughout the second season it was a minor Running Gag that Flash had his identity exposed to various other characters. His secret only continued to stay safe due to those that learned either suffering Laser-Guided Amnesia, dying via Heroic Sacrifice before they could tell anyone, or becoming a new Secret-Keeper. Here, it is all brought to an end when Vilgax reveals Flash's secret to the entire world.
- The Unmasking: The first thing Vilgax does upon returning to Earth is reveal Flash's secret identity to the entire world, showing video proof of Flash's transformations from their first encounter.
- The Unreveal: The Fall Formal is interrupted by Vilgax's attack right before the Fall Formal Princess is announced, leaving the winner unknown. Though many students expected it was going to be Sunset Shimmer.
- Wham Episode: Vilgax finally makes his return to Earth and immediately reveals Flash's Secret Identity to the entire world. Flash ends up trapped in the Null Void with the projector accidentally destroyed, and the creator of the Omnitrix detects his creation in the Null Void and decides he will retrieve it himself.
