Recap / The Omnitrix Hero S 2 E 11 Glitches

Go To

While Twilight is examining Dragstar's equipment, she and Shining Armor discover that his alien tech is actually a living alien; a Galvanic Mechamorph named Gal-N. Gal-N seeks "justice" against the planet he feels has wronged him and taken everything from him and goes on a rampage, and his weapons cause the Omnitrix to start glitching.

  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Similar to Adagio, Aria and Sonata initially don't remember Flash even after he says they brainwashed him, since Aria says they've brainwashed a lot of humans and he needs to be more specific. Once he reminds them they competed against each other in the Battle of the Bands, Aria instantly remembers him.
  • Cassandra Truth: Gal-N thinks that the ship sending a distress call that he and his crew responded too was from Earth, and doesn't believe Shining Armor when he tells him it was actually Vilgax.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: The different modes for the Omnitrix that Xylene taught Flash at the end of "The Visitor" becomes important when he remembers its recalibration mode and how he should use it if the Omnitrix ever starts acting strangely. He uses it to fix the Omnitrix after Gal-N caused it to glitch.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Flash asks Adagio if she has a drivers license she says no, asking why would she need a license, even when she and her sisters travel around in a van. She assures him she has been driving since the first automobile was ever created and hasn't gotten in an accident in 30 years.
  • Double-Meaning Title: The title refers both to how Gal-N's damaged matrix has caused him to gain a thirst for revenge, and how he causes the Omnitrix to glitch during the fight with Flash, causing it to constantly mistransform him and shorten the transformation time.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Sonata is apparently this, with Aria stating if she drove them there they would have gotten there early but would have probably smashed into something.
  • Foreshadowing: Cadance is making a plush toy for Flurry Heart in the last scene, but keeps what it is a secret from everyone. It is revealed what it is in two chapters.
  • Gag Penis: This is discussed briefly, where Sonata guesses that Adagio decided to keep dating Flash instead of just making it a fling because of the size of his dick. She brings her fingers together and says "say when" while pulling them apart, only to get worried when they end up being a foot apart.
  • Godzilla Threshold: A downplayed example, but the recalibration mode for the Omnitrix is treated this way by Flash and his friends by the end of the chapter. Using it fixes the Omnitrix after it suffers from glitches, but due to how he was told it "rebooted" the Omnitrix and Flash gaining Bloxx from it he was briefly afraid that using it caused him to lose his previous aliens and reset it to ten aliens he knows nothing about. He checks the Omnitrix and finds that in addition to Bloxx he still has all of his other aliens too, seemingly meaning he was worried over nothing, but Shining says that if he is still scared recalibration might make him lose his aliens then he should be extra careful so he won't be forced to use it in the future.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Even though Vilgax was the one that destroyed his ship and killed his crew, and Dragstar was the one that experimented on him, Gal-N decides that if he can't make Dragstar suffer for what he did to him, then he'll just make everyone on the planet suffer instead.
  • Mythology Gag: Flash talking directly to the Omnitrix before transforming into Bloxx for the first time is similar to what Ben says before transforming into Alien X for the first time in Omniverse.
Flash: Okay Omnitrix, I don't want Goop. I don't want Molestache. Just give me something I can use to stop that train so we can all get on with our lives.
  • Revenge Is Not Justice: A Central Theme for the conflict with Gal-N. He believes that by making the citizens of Earth suffer for what Dragstar did to him he is delivering justice. However, it is really nothing more than pointless revenge, and misplaced revenge at that.
  • Sequel Episode: This chapter is a follow-up to Dragstar's debut chapter, revealing that his alien technology came from Gal-N.
  • Tragic Villain: Gal-N's entire crew, who he considered his family, were killed when Vilgax destroyed his ship, and he himself was experimented on by Dragstar for months. It is also implied that his matrix was damaged, which possibly gave him the burning desire for vengeance, even if it means taking his anger out on innocent people that had nothing to do with his suffering.
