It's Michelangelo's birthday and everyone had forgotten. Meanwhile, Krang and Shredder create an anti-mutagen and

- Achievements in Ignorance: Shredder and Krang create an Anti-Mutagen completely by accident.
- Anti-Magic: Shredder and Krang inadvertently create an Anti-Mutagen when Dimension X epoxy mixes with a puddle of lava.
- Baldness Angst: Krang takes it personally when Shredder points out he doesn't have any hair.
- Birthday Episode: As the title implies, the episode is set on Michelangelo's birthday.
- Deus ex Machina: After Leo, Raph and Donnie are rendered helpless by the anti-mutagen, Splinter pulls out three magic pearls (which he reveals are just mothballs) he had gotten from a sensei which magically cure them. Splinter implying that the effects of the anti-mutagen are psychosomatic in nature. Raph relents, not wanting to question a good thing.
- Forgotten Birthday: The episode starts with his brothers forgetting that it was Michelangelo's birthday.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Vernon boasts about how much of a badass he is when he shows Burne footage of Bebop and Rocksteady's rampage. Burne then orders him to do a follow-up, something Vernon regrets because of how much of a Dirty Coward he is.
- Prank Gone Too Far: It's revealed that Leo, Raph and Donnie knew it was Michelangelo's birthday and they were pretending they forgot as a prank. Unfortunately, he takes it personally and runs away.
