Captain Spikes is dead to novelty, and unimpressed by power. But he is not above vengeance! The Jedi struggle to repress the renewed Imperial assault. Can anything, Force-borne or otherwise, stand against the raw power and fanatical faith of the Imperium and its imperious Lady of War?!

This episode includes the following tropes:

  • Attack Backfire: When Captain Torch tries hyperspace ramming his Star Destroyer into the Imperial Navy's flagship during the space battle over Axum, he winds up somehow supercharging the Imperial flagship's void shields while teleporting himself and his Star Destroyer into the Warp.
  • Battle-Halting Duel: Occurs in this episode where Ishtara Ordane duels Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin by herself while both the Imperials and clone troopers look on. Downplayed in that most of the battle is still raging on in the background and only those closest to the duel have stopped fighting. Eventually subverted as one of the Clones interrupts the duel when Ishtara gains the upper hand and throws an EMP grenade at her, causing the surrounding soldiers to resume fighting as well.
  • The Bus Came Back: This episode marks the big return of Captain Spikes (now an admiral), who had last been seen way back in Episode 11 captaining one of the Acclamator-class assault ships that towed the Verpine asteroid base used by the Jedi to stage their initial counter-invasion of Axum. Here he's commanding Victory Fleet, a fleet of Victory-class Star Destroyers which make up part of the Republic's official armada sent to reinforce the Jedi fighting on Axum.
  • Do a Barrel Roll: There's a moment in this episode where one of the Imperial Cruisers being surrounded by swarms of smaller Republic ships uses its retro-thrusters to propel itself into a gargantuan roll. The twirling allows the Cruiser's cannons to have full 360 degree range, enabling the Cruiser to fire on Republic ships which had previously been positioning themselves in the Cruiser's blind spots.
  • Mythology Gag: The three Jedi Masters that Ishtara Ordane duels in this episode are Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin, the same trio which accompanied Mace Windu when he went to arrest Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith.
  • Rousing Speech: Saint Lazarus delivers one to the wounded and exhausted remnants of the Imperial Guard present at the Basilica of Salvation near the end of the episode.
Lazarus: Stand, men and women of the Emperor! We have survived their worst tricks! Again and again they try to crush us with their dishonorable tactics! And again and again, we survive their desperate deviousness! Look up! Do you see those fires?! That is not just the presence of the enemy! The whole Xek-Tek fleet has come here! Countless more regiments, reinforcements, relief! Even the Angels of Death are likely to descend for us, if we can just hold the line! We have made it this far, we can make it further yet, but it will require all of our strength! All of our Faith! If the Emperor were not with us, we would have fallen long ago! We are his hammer! We are his shield! And we will succeed through this!
  • Villain Opening Scene: The episode opens up with Ishtara Ordane in a Paragon Warsuit entering the ground battle on Axum and leaping on top of a Republic AT-TE to do some damage
