Recap / Soul Eater Demon Sword Arc

The Demon Sword Arc is the third story arc in Soul Eater. Beginning the main plot of the series, Maka and Soul encounter the Demon Swordsman and their weapon, Crona and Ragnarok. After suffering a grievous defeat, they're rescued by Stein and Spirit and encounter a powerful witch who's interest expands towards both weapons and meisters.

In the aftermath, both Black☆Star and Death the Kid embark on a journey to find the most powerful weapon in the world, Excalibur.

"The Demon Sword Arc" contains examples of:

• Big Damn Heroes: Stein and Death Scythe show up to save Maka from Crona in Italy during their first encounter
• Black Blood: played strait, Crona's blood is black and causes extreme madness for him
• Devil in Plain Sight: Medusa when she's working as the school nurse at the DWMA as she can mask her presence as a witch with the soul protect move
• Hospital Hottie: Medusa, By the start of the show she's infiltrated the DWMA as a nurse, occasionally taking the chance to use students as test subjects. Spirit could barely control himself when around her.
• Hot Witch: Also Medusa, though no one is the wiser quite yet
• Summon Bigger Fish: Stein's flashback reveals Lord Death brought him back to the DWMA not only to teach students, but to deal with the demon sword as it was only one step away from becoming a kishin. This implies stein is the only meister strong enough to handle him, and for good measure, sent Spirit, his own personal death scythe, so stein would be strong enough for the job.
• Taking the Bullet: Soul takes the bulle- er, sword for Maka.
