Recap / SM G4s Mario Bloopers SMG 4 POV Youre Mario

Go To

Mario and Meggy see what it's like being in the other's shoes for a day.

Whose life is harder: a Ditz of a plumber stuck having to partake in his roommate's crazy YouTube videos, or a hard-boiled Action Girl dealing with multiple academic studies? As part of a bet, Mario and Meggy swap lives to prove to the other that they've got it the hardest.

Tropes:

  • Animation Bump: Meggy is shown with smoother animation far more often than usual.
  • The Bet: Mario and Meggy bet the other they can live each other's lives for a day to see who has it the hardest, with the winner getting both gloating rights and the loser having to do whatever the other person wants. Meggy wins after Mario finally cracks, though it's only right as she's about to admit defeat herself, and she admits his life is just as hard as he describes.
  • Call-Back: After sliding down the flagpole, Meggy makes her way to Bowser's castle while doing the "Classic Sonic & Tails Dancing" meme from "The Pawn Business".
  • Covers Always Lie: The thumbnail shows Mario sticking Luigi up over a plate of spaghetti. In the episode, Luigi doesn't show up at all.
  • Forgot Flanders Could Do That: It's shown that Meggy is still studying at Omnia Academy, something that hasn't been addressed since the Revelations Arc.
  • "Here's Johnny!" Homage: Meggy says "HEEERE'S MEGGY" when she breaks into Bowser's castle to rescue Peach from him. This marks the second time in the series when she does this (the first being "There's Something Up With Meggy").
  • Never Trust a Title: The title props the video up as an episode about Mario's daily life from a First-Person Perspective. The episode itself is actually a Swapped Roles plot between Mario and Meggy.
  • Swapped Roles: The episode's main premise is Mario and Meggy swapping lives as part of The Bet to see who can live the other's life with no problem. The episode ends with both realizing they're poorly equipped to handle what the other does naturally, while also gaining a new understanding for each other: Meggy that Mario always has to stay on his toes to deal with whatever randomness the world throws at him, and Mario that Meggy constantly has to deal with the pressure of living up to everyone's expectations.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: From both ends: Meggy chews out Mario for putting himself in mortal danger at a time where she is studying for exams. Mario, for his part, does not take kindly to Meggy dismissing him as lazy, angrily pointing out that he was fighting a dragon while Meggy was busy with her studies.
