Mario and SMG4 end up in a strange place with some totally not-strange people.

Mario and SMG4 get stuck in the world of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared at McDonalds, and the duo have to use their wits if they want to escape this surreal nightmare and its creepy residents.


Tropes:

  • Adaptational Villainy: Red Guy, Duck Guy, and Yellow Guy are the hapless victims of psychotic teachers in the original. Here, they themselves play the role of the deranged teachers, with Mario and SMG4 as the victimized students.
  • Adaptation Name Change: In a downplayed sense, in the original web series, the anthropomorphic duck of the three is just named, well Duck, here, he's Duck Guy.
  • Color Failure: Mario gets a nasty surprise from Tony the Talking Clock when he opens one of the house's doors, and ends losing all his colors before breaking down.
  • Genre Savvy: Mario suggests the duo check the house's basement for any potential exits. SMG4 vehemently rejects the idea, saying that nothing good ever exists in a basement.
  • Lecherous Licking: Shrignold licks Mario's eye during the freak out.
  • Parental Abandonment: Implied. Paired with Related in the Adaptation below, the Red Guy, Duck Guy, and Yellow Guy's parents are long out of the picture before Mario and SMG4 meet them. Duck Guy attempts to fix it by making Mario and SMG4 their new parents.
  • Properly Paranoid: Mario tries to stop SMG4 from patting Yellow Guy, fearing something horrible might happen. Sure enough, the boy's face begins to contort in disturbing ways, long enough for the rest of the party to catch up with Mario and SMG4, who nonetheless escape.
  • The Quiet One: Of the three, Red Guy has the least amount of voice lines, but he's just as dangerous as his brothers-in-arms, if not moreso.
  • Related in the Adaptation: The main Don't Hug Me I'm Scared cast are portrayed in this episode as brothers. In the original series, they're simply housemates.
  • Stab the Salad: When Mario asks if he and SMG4 can leave after teaching the Guys about hope, Duck Guy comes at them with a hunting knife... to cut them a piece of cake.
  • Surreal Horror: Much like the original series, Mario and SMG4 are subject to plenty of bizarre and terrifying moments next to SMG4's usual brand of Surreal Humor.
  • Tranquil Fury: When Mario and SMG4 try to leave, Duck Guy brings up learning about anger, namely how people leaving make him angry. Cue an Oh, Crap! look from Mario and SMG4.
