Bowser's come up with a little cooking competition for Mario and friends...
Bowser challenges two teams of "professional" chefs to create a dish for him. Hilarity Ensues.Upload Date: February 2nd, 2019
Mario's Hell Kitchen provides examples of:
- Call-Back: Bowser confiscates Meggy's splatbrush and inkzooka due to her last attempt at cooking in "Mario and the Bob Mansion...".
- Can't Take Criticism: Mario about his horrid cooking and his lack of safety, to the point where he refuses to help fight off the monstrous cake-mix.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Bowser is far more authoritative and easier to anger than he usually is in the series, almost close to some of his actual portrayals in Mario games. He even cows Saiko via "hairdryer treatment" when she suggests something particularly stupid.Saiko: Ugh, just add sauce to [the chicken] and we'll be done!
Bowser: The f*cking chicken is f*cking RAWWWWWWW! - Dumbass Has a Point: While Mario's cooking is horrible, the rest of the team's attempts are not much better, seeing as the cake mix they've concocted is so bad that it comes alive. Meggy even calls out SMG4 on being needlessly stubborn when they have nothing to lose at that point.
- Enraged by Idiocy: Bowser - since he's acting as a stand-in of Gordon Ramsey, it's justified. Most prominent when Boopkins mistakes bleach for milk.
- It Tastes Like Feet: Team Thicc's roast chicken looks good enough, but when tasting it, Bowser spits it out and proclaims that it takes like penis.
- Lethal Chef: Due to a combination of incompetence, impatience or apathy among their members, Both teams end up being this.
- Team Thicc (consisting of Saiko, Tari, Luigi, Shroomy and Toad) make a hastily prepared roast chicken that looks good but tastes "like penis", according to Bowser. This is due to dealing with the raging fire Toad caused by using Bowser's to heat up the chicken as opposed to just using the oven.
- Team Spicy (consisting of SMG4, Bob, Boopkins, Mario and Meggy) has Boopkins gather every ingredient possible and Bob dumps all of it into the cake mix. After that, the result is a literal take on this trope, as they bake a cake so bad Bowser's head folds in on itself and he DIES.
- Major Injury Underreaction: Luigi's set on fire halfway through the challenge, but he's more focused on cooking the chicken than extinguishing himself. This doesn't end well and he keels over almost instantly after finishing.
- Mundane Made Awesome:
- "The ELUSIVE BAKED CAKE" and "The INFAMOUS ROAST CHICKEN".
- Saiko gets Shroomy to make her snap....in order to chop up vegetables.
- Only Sane Man:
- Bowser on a general level. This quote sums it up:Bowser: (as Bob is mixing all of the ingredients) Is there anyone of you who isn't a dumbass motherf*cker?
- Among the competitors, Shroomy is the only one who actually sticks to the objective, takes a lot of his team's mishaps in stride and tries to get everyone to utilize their strengths and contribute. He even finds a way to use Saiko, in stark contrast to how SMG4 orders Mario to sit in the corner and do nothing.
- Bowser on a general level. This quote sums it up:
- Sure, Let's Go with That: When Bowser dies from the horrible cake Mario's team made, Mario suggests that the cake was "so delicious that he died," prompting the rest of the team to celebrate.
- Womanchild: Tari takes this to a ridiculous level, as she starts crying and is unable to chop up carrots due to the perceived harm it would cause.Tari: I'm sorry Mr. Carrot...
- Considering Melony who is introduced much later on in the series, Tari might not be entirely wrong about not wanting to "execute the poor carrot".
- Yandere: Discussed by Shroomy, and exemplified by (who else?) Saiko.Shroomy: Oh hey Saiko! Can you help chop these vegetables? You seem good with a knife, just like one of them yanderes I see on the internets.
Saiko: (brandishing a knife) Maybe we can add mushrooms to the dish!
Shroomy: Hehe, that's a funny joke...please don't hurt me.
