The Recess Gang build their own fort, but when Lawson takes it over, they become locked in a vicious battle to take it back.


Tropes:

  • Bolivian Army Ending: The episode ends with Lawson and his crew charging at Fort Tender, only to be hit by water balloons.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The episode opens when the kids seeing an ad for a submarine and fantasizing about using it. They later use the appeal of a sub for their Trojan Horse plan.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Lawson renames Fort Tender "Fort Fort."
  • Dull Surprise: After Gus ruined the scheme that came closest to success, he speaks in a complete monotone when they engage in their Trojan Horse ploy.
  • Gone Horribly Right: The Recess Gang built Fort Tender on a high location to make it impossible for enemies to sneak up on them. Unfortunately, this works against them during their campaign to take it back.
  • Here We Go Again!: After retaking Fort Tender, TJ and his friends decide that fighting for the fort was more fun than just having it, and so challenge Lawson and his crew to take it back.
  • Hidden Depths: Lawson shows some intelligence when he points out that none of their mothers can possibly be in the office before Gus gives it away.
  • Hope Spot: The gang bribes Menlo to make an announcement to Lawson and his gang that their mothers have arrived with grilled cheese sandwiches. It almost works, until Gus starts speaking near the microphone.
  • Jerkass Ball / Out-of-Character Moment: King Bob has held the Jerkass Ball before, but he really goes against his Reasonable Authority Figure persona when he refuses to aid the Recess Gang in taking back Fort Tender from Lawson.
  • Read the Fine Print: The Recess Six find an ad for a submarine, only to read the fine print and see it's not intended for use in water.
  • Trojan Horse: The Recess Gang build a submarine and gift it to Lawson in order to take back Fort Tender.
