The Cerise Laboratory has just received a shipment of fresh vegetables sent to them by Laxton, a former student of Professor Cerise who left him to become a farmer two years earlier. Cerise tells Ash and Goh that Laxton has been having trouble with some Diglett and Dugtrio recently. The boys along with Chloe head over to help.
- Call a Rabbit a "Smeerp": Over time, many real life fruits have all been referred to as "berries" and vegetables usually aren't given names. However, this episode clearly shows tomatoes, eggplants (aubergines), and carrots and are referred to as such like in the 4Kids dub where real life fruits and veggies were referred to by their real life names.
- Eyes Always Shut: Laxton's eyes are never visible in the episode.
- Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow: Chloe's flashback shows Laxton with near shoulder length hair. In the present time, he is completely bald. It's unknown if he shaved it off or if he's Prematurely Bald.
- Mundane Utility: Laxton's Voltorb uses electric sparks to eliminate weeds on his farm.
- Not So Above It All: In the beginning of the episode, Chloe doesn't understand why the boys would run in the openness of the field. By the end of the episode, she's the first to run before the boys join in.
- "Super Sentai" Stance: Ash, Goh and Chloe form one of these before preparing to stop the Diglett for the first time.
