Go To

Animal Kong is the 24th episode of Muppet Babies (2018).

Animal is angry that he has to wait for the end of Quiet Time to play drums, and turns into Animal Kong.

Tropes:

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Animal turns into a giant monster and rampages in the backyard.
  • Disney Acid Sequence: Summer's song contains trippy imagery representing different emotions, like several multi-coloured Animals representing anger, and sitting on clouds in a blue sky representing calmness.
  • Gale-Force Sound: Animal Kong's shouting is strong enough to send the kids flying.
  • The Heart: Summer saves the day by appealing to Animal's emotions, expressing empathy about his angry, sad feelings, and telling him You Are Not Alone, and that things will get better eventually.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Animal grows by himself using imagination.
  • Mythology Gag: Kermit's idea of relaxing involves singing about rainbows while sitting on a lily pad.
  • Pass the Popcorn: At one point, Gonzo tries to distract Animal by launching himself out of a cannon and into a wading pool filled with popcorn. Rizzo is later seen eating some of the popcorn as he watches the potential destruction from the giant Animal.
  • Post Tantrum Sleep: This episode has Animal throw a fit when he isn't allowed to play his drums during quiet time and turn into Animal Kong, a gigantic version of himself. After Summer manages to calm Animal down and get him back to his normal self, the episode ends with quiet time being over and Miss Nanny giving Animal his drumsticks back. Animal beats his drums once, then falls asleep.
Miss Nanny: Looks like his little tantrum tired him out.
Gonzo: If that was a little tantrum, I'd hate to see a big one.
  • Primal Chest-Pound: Animal does this after becoming Animal Kong and climbing the tree.
  • Pun: Statler and Waldorf, after getting their balcony pelted with bananas:
Statler: Did you see what I just saw?
Waldorf: I know; it was bananas!
    Both: Do-ho-ho-ho-hoh!
  • Wink "Ding!": Done by Gonzo when explaining his distraction plan to the audience.
