  • Armor-Piercing Question: While calling out his father on his uncaring behavior, Kenji makes it a point to ask him a glaring question: when he went missing on Isla Nublar, did Mr. Kon ever bother finding his son? To this, Mr. Kon low-key dances around the question, more concerned with leaving the island safely than bother arguing with the validity of that accusation.
  • Big Damn Hero: Big Eatie arrives just in time to save Darius from being eaten by the Spinosaurus.
  • Call-Forward: In the Time Skip Broklynn says she's investigating something going down at the Lockwood Estate, the location of the final act of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and she even points out it's not far from Darius' house. Sure enough, the events turn out to be the events of Fallen Kingdom as Darius sees one of the escaped dinosaurs near his house.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After five seasons of being stranded and chased by dinosaurs, the kids finally get back home to their families.
    • This also could count for the dinosaurs on the island as well, as they get to live in peace on the island, including Toro and Bumpy.
    • To a specific degree, after a life time of living with a father who scarcely cared about him, Kenji is adopted by Darius's family. The Time Skip shows he's happier for it, as he's to Darius's family like a fish to water.
  • Family of Choice: After calling out his father on his callous mindset, Kenji declares that the Camp Fam are his real family.
  • Happily Adopted: In the end, the Bowmans adopt Kenji, since his father is arrested and his mom is "gone". If the last scene and Kenji's laid-back interaction with Brand is any indication, he's far happier for it than when he was living with his uncaring father.
  • I Have No Son!: Mr. Kon abandons Kenji for deciding to stay with his friends, practically going into this trope. Kenji, for his part, lets him leave having declared his friends are his real family.
  • Title Drop: The new reporters refer to the campers as "The Nublar Six".
  • What You Are in the Dark: So here's Mr. Kon's situation in a nutshell: Mantah Corp Island is about to explode, there's no saving the dinosaurs, and he has a plane to use to escape. But his son doesn't want to abandon his friends to their fates. So what does he choose? The plane. The thing is, the whole thing was fake: nobody was in any real danger. It was all smoke and mirrors to make Mr. Kon leave empty-handed. If anything, this just goes to show Mr. Kon is no father to Kenji. In the end, he gets what he deserves when the police catch up with him and arrest him.
  • "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue: The last scene is several years later, showing that Darius has become a celebrity guest speaker about his experiences on the island while he and Kenji are still living together. Ben is living on the second island with Dr Mae while the two of them look after the dinosaurs there. Sammy and Yasmina are still a couple, living on Sammy's family ranch. And Brooklynn is off investigating something on her own. Then Darius hears a rumbling footstep and runs to the window and is shocked to see a Brachiosaurus outside, indicating that it's at the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom with dinosaurs starting to spread through the world.
