When they spot smoke in the distance, the campers rush to investigate and are suddenly saved from a Ceratosaurus attack by a pair of eco-tourists Mitch and Tiff, however Brooklyn quickly becomes suspicious of their gruff tour guide Hap.
- Big Damn Heroes: Hap has Brooklynn and Kenji cornered, having chased them down in the jungle... cue Ben, believed dead since the last season, pulling a Conveniently Timed Attack from Behind alongside a now fully-grown Bumpy.
- The Dissenter Is Always Right: Brooklynn is the only one to suggest something is off about Hap, and to an extent, Mitch and Tiff. She's sort-of right... or at least closer to the truth than the others.
- Hypocritical Humor: Kenji quickly gets annoyed with Mitch and Tiff, claiming "We get it, you're rich, you don't have to throw it in our faces!" Cue a glare from Brooklynn.
- Mundane Object Amazement: Downplayed. Mitch and Tiff's camp is a few expensive yurts around a picnic table, but the campers have been roughing it long enough that it looks like a luxury hotel. Sammy almost cries when she finds a can opener.
- Naïve Animal Lover: Tiff seems to be this, trying to befriend a Compy in a group. Cue the usual attempt at a Zerg Rush.
- New Friend Envy: Kenji is visibly annoyed at Darius being impressed by Mitch and paying more attention to him.
- Not So Above It All: Kenji tries to play off being unimpressed by Mitch and Tiff's camp... but when nobody is looking, he flops facefirst down on their bed, laughing with joy.
- Properly Paranoid: Hap really doesn't want people going into his yurt. When Brooklynn tries sneaking in, she's caught by an alarm. When she tries again alongside Kenji claiming she can disable it, it turns out Hap was waiting for them inside.
- Rugged Scar: Mitch and Tiff’s guide Hap has one.
