Recap / Jackie Chan Adventures S 3 E 12 The Ox Head Incident

Go To

The Chans and Tohru have located the Noble Ox in Asia. Daolon Wong gives an old enemy of theirs a new upgrade.

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Subverted. When Jackie asks if Hak Foo really wants to be enslaved to do Daolon Wong's bidding as a Dark Chi Warrior, Hak Foo briefly seems to seriously consider it before he replies with a Blunt "Yes".
  • The Bus Came Back: Hak Foo returns after leaving the Dark Hand and having his own episode in the second season.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Hak Foo quickly takes down Finn, Ratso, and Chow before they can try to fight back, impressing Daolon Wong.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Hak Foo's already a match for Jackie and Tohru as a human, but becoming a Dark Chi Warrior makes him much more dangerous.
  • The Juggernaut: Becoming a Dark Chi Warrior makes Hak Foo unstoppable. It takes Uncle using the power of the ox talisman to defeat him.
  • A Master Makes Their Own Tools: Tohru and Jade work on creating a chi spell that will free Uncle's spiritual head from the Orb of Kwan Lo. When Tohru reads the next ingredient as "3 spines of urchin", Uncle yells at them not to do that, claiming that the book is only a guide, and a good chi wizard makes a spell his own way.
  • No-Sell: Hak Foo, as a Dark Chi Warrior, is impervious to any attacks by Jackie.
  • Shut Up, Kirk!: Jackie tries to talk Hak Foo into reconsidering if being a Dark Chi Warrior is worth it, but Hak Foo quickly brushes him off.
Jackie: Look at yourself, Hak Foo. Daolon Wong has made you his lackey, his slave. Is this really how you want to be? A freak?
    Hak Foo: Yes.
  • Super-Senses: Jackie believes the ox's super strength also gives it super smell as it wanted Jade's energy bar while it was on the other side of a mountain.
  • Super-Strength: Uncle transfers the ox talisman's power of super strength into his own body.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Daolon Wong turns Hak Foo into his fourth Dark Chi Warrior, making him a sentient force of nature and near invincible.
