Angelina is back, with bad news for Monroe.

Whilst he thus gazed before him, he saw a snake creep out of a corner of the vault and approach the dead body.

Date night is interrupted for both Nick and Monroe by a surprise visitor: Angelina, who's dropped in on Monroe with the news that she's been hired to kill him.

Investigating, Nick and Angelina find out that the hit is because of Monroe's friendship with Nick, and that Angelina's employer was hired in turn by someone higher up. To find that person, the gang decide upon a sting operation. Unfortunately, for that to work Monroe first has to be dead...

This episode provides examples of:

  • Asshole Victim: The guy originally hired to kill Monroe, who Angelina kills in the beginning because he tried to rape her. The detective on that case says the guy has other rape priors, and isn't above agreeing that he got what he deserved.
  • Call-Back:
    • Angelina reappears for the first time since "The Three Bad Wolves".
    • The hit on Monroe is revealed to be a follow-up from his being attacked in "Of Mouse And Man" for working with a Grimm; he didn't get the message, so they've escalated to murder.
  • Due to the Dead: Monroe buries Angelina in what is apparently the traditional Blutbad fashion: with a cairn of stones with her smashed watch as a marker and a howl over her grave.
  • Faking the Dead: To find the Royal who put out the hit on Monroe, the gang decide to fake his death so Angelina has a "body" to show her employers. For this, he needs a Wesen concoction called a Dead Faint. Rosalee is horrified by the plan, as there's a chance he'll end up dead for real.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Monroe hides out at Hank's while Nick and Angelina investigate who wants him dead. Hank offers him a drink, which Monroe is happy to agree he would like. The pair end up drunk-bonding.
  • Killed Off for Real: Angelina is shot defending Monroe, and dies in his arms.
  • Moment Killer: Angelina barges in on Monroe's date with Rosalee to tell him about the hit on him. This leads Monroe to call Nick, interrupting his dinner with Juliette.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Monroe repeatedly points out that Angelina didn't have to warn him about the hit; she could have gone through with it and made $25 000. In the end, she endangers herself by resuscitating Monroe when she realises he's in danger from the Dead Faint and is shot defending him.
