Mother-son Grimm team.

If a man of pure heart were to fall in love with her, that would bring her back to life.

As the clock ticks on Juliette's treatment, Nick and Kelly fight Marnassier. They kill him, but are unable to save the FBI agents he used as bait, and inconsistencies in the investigation result in Nick's arrest by the FBI.

Hank continues to suffer after seeing a Woge, and Captain Renard must deal with his Royal brother while taking drastic steps to help Juliette.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Compromising Call: One of the dead agents called Nick right before they died, making the investigating agents suspicious of him.
  • Due to the Dead: Nick manages to get the FBI guys off him by implying the dead agents killed the Mauvais Dentes.
  • Exact Words: Leaving with the coins, Nick's mother says, "You'll have to drop me off at the station." She doesn't say she plans to leave on a bus.
  • Fairytale Motifs: Sleeping Beauty. Juliette is brought out of her magically-induced coma by a kiss from a prince, Renard. The witch who helps gives Renard the cure is shown to be obssesed with mirrors.
  • Fan Disservice: Renard, shirtless, and screaming and writhing in agony as the purification potion gets to work.
  • Hired to Hunt Yourself: Nick is briefly in the position of investigating his and his mother's crime, at least until the FBI take over.
    Nick: I'm investigating us!
  • Irony: When Catherine Schade intimidates Rosalee into lowering the price of a potion ingredient, Monroe comments that she "doesn't know how close she came to getting her throat ripped out." Later, Catherine's fight with Kelly ends when Catherine is slammed into a mirror which breaks, slicing her throat.
  • Killed Off for Real: Adalind's mother Catherine is killed by Kelly after she stops by for answers about Juliette. Fortunately, she's already given Renard the means to save her.
  • Sarcastic Confession: When Nick is told the hair from the crime scene is a familial match to him, he's asked who he's covering for and replies, "My mother!" The FBI guys, presumably knowing his mother is supposedly dead, give him the Death Glare.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Renard, before taking the potion to "purify" himself to save Juliette. He's right, it does suck.
Renard: [Clearly not convinced] How bad can it be?
  • Wham Line: When Nick sees Juliette right after she wakes up.
    Juliette: Who are you?
