Tropes:
- Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: The Dioscuri use the Mallet of Fortune's power to restore their former divine status. They become more and more powerful during the ensuing fight until they ultimately reach their true form: the constellation Gemini.
- Book Ends: The event begins and ends with Gaius Julius Caesar and Fergus mac Roich in the library.
- Brick Joke: In the opening cutscene, Fergus and Caesar are defeated by Kiichi Hogen in the library. They remain in there for the entirety of the event, in hopes that Murasaki will come by and nurse them back to health.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: As the Mallet of Fortune's rightful owner, Kiichi Hogen could have reclaimed it from Evil Ushiwaka at any time regardless of where she was hiding. Kiichi sheepishly admits that she wanted to see how far Chaldea could get on their own when the issue is brought up.
- Eat Me: To deal with a Kaiju-sized Heracles rampaging across New York, Kiichi Hogen has the party shrink down and leap into his mouth so they can defeat him from the inside.
- Foreshadowing:
- Elisabeth is working on gathering resources to make this year's Halloween event the biggest one yet. Even after she's been defeated and she returns to Chaldea, Mash and the protagonist have the sinking feeling this won't be the last they've seen of her.
- The chapter titles naming each location visited all end with a question mark, hinting toward the reveal that the party has actually been running around a disguised Kamakura the whole time.
- "Freaky Friday" Flip: Jeanne Alter and Jeanne Alter Santa Lily end up effectively swapping bodies due to Taira hitting them with the Mallet of Fortune, as she deages Jeanne Alter to a child form while aging up Jeanne Alter Santa Lily to adult form. It wasn't quite a perfect match-up however, as Jeanne Alter Santa Lily's physical body actually grew slightly larger than Jeanne Alter's, which she discovered when she found her new armor to be too tight and so switched to swimsuit form. Jeanne Alter doesn't take the initial implication well at all and goes ballistic on her counterpart.
- Joke Character: Of the random ally buffs, Jason's is the weakest due to only five of the event's bonus Servants being offensively Arts-based.
- Physical Attribute Swap: One of Evil Ushiwaka's favorite tactics with the Mallet of Fortune. Santa Lily, Medea Lily, Lancer Medusa, Alexander, Sitonai, and Illya all get turned into their older selves (with the latter two turning into copies of Iri) while Jeanne Alter, Medea, Gorgon, Iskandar, and Iri all become younger (Iri turns into Sitonai in this case). El-Melloi II gets hit with the Fountain of Youth effect as well, but Kid Gil, his counterpart, saw all the nonsense coming and left beforehand.
